Smart building platform — real-time sensor network

Led all frontend architecture for an IoT platform processing high-volume sensor data across nationwide deployments. Built real-time building floorplan visualization, time-series HVAC dashboards with complex aggregations, and a modular device configuration system for rapid support of new device types. Heavily involved in shaping product UX alongside the technical work.

Proving Sprint

~1 week

Bring your concept, mockups, or AI-generated prototype. I build at full intensity for one week. The difference from what you've seen from AI tools: this is architected to ship, not just to demo. You walk away with something working and a clear scope for what comes next.

MVP Sprint

~4 weeks

From idea to a product ready to demo or go live. Product direction is part of the work, not a separate conversation. You get a working app built on solid architecture, plus a fully documented AI development setup for continued building.

Fractional Engagement

~8 hrs/week · Ongoing

Continued rapid development and product direction after a sprint, or standalone for founders who already have something built. Includes roadmap prioritization, gut-checks, and AI coaching for your developers when you have them.

I've been building web applications since 1997. I spent a decade as CTO at EMEX, growing the engineering team from scratch through private equity acquisition. Today I operate through Brightform Technology, working with founders and teams who need senior-level engineering without a full-time hire.

Recent work spans IoT platforms, real-time data visualization, and complex frontend architecture for Rails teams. The kind of problems where product sense and architectural judgment matter as much as code output. I build with Claude Code daily.

I write about what that actually looks like on Substack: the tools, the process, and where AI-assisted development is headed.
